Accelerate Sheboygan County, powered by the Sheboygan
County Innovation Council and the Sheboygan County Economic Development
Corporation (SCEDC), is proud to highlight Grabot.Tech, a Sheboygan County-based
robotics startup founded by Ben Davidson that is developing robotic technology for real-
world applications. Grabot.Tech will also compete in BattleBot’s Creature Combat II, a
highly technical robot fighting competition taking place in Las Vegas over Halloween
2026.
Davidson has spent more than 15 years designing and building robots, much of it
independently from his basement workshop. Today, Grabot.Tech is focused on creating
compelling robotic systems that can eventually scale into industrial, commercial, and
entertainment applications.
“Most of this started as a hobby in my basement,” said Davidson. “But over time, the
capabilities of these machines have really started to improve. The same robotics
platform can potentially scale from toy-sized applications to industrial construction-sized
machines.”
Grabot.Tech previously competed in a major robot fighting competition in 2020 and is
now preparing for Creature Combat II, where Davidson’s robot will compete against
advanced machines developed by builders from around the world. “This event is
shaping up to be one of the most thrilling and fulfilling experiences I could imagine,”
Davidson said. “Win or lose, getting to compete alongside some of my childhood heroes
is incredibly exciting.”
The robotics systems developed at Grabot.Tech are centered around scalable
mechatronic designs utilizing dual-arm robotic platforms powered by advanced drive
systems. Davidson’s long-term vision is to develop and license robotic intellectual
property that can perform increasingly complex tasks at lower costs than traditional
robotics systems.
Accelerate Sheboygan County and SCEDC have been assisting Davidson through
entrepreneurial support services, business strategy development, networking
opportunities, and exploring funding pathways to continue advancing the company’s
growth.
“Ben represents the type of innovative entrepreneur we want to support in Sheboygan
County,” said Justin Vannieuwenhoven, Chair of the Sheboygan County Innovation
Council. “He has spent years independently developing sophisticated robotics
technology, and now there is an opportunity for the community to rally behind a local
innovator competing on a national stage.”
As Grabot.Tech continues to grow, Davidson hopes to expand into manufacturing,
licensing robotic technology, and potentially creating future local jobs related to robotic
assembly and fulfillment operations.
